Circular or linear polariser?

Opinions please the linear is cheaper and my lenses have non rotating front lenses, what are the pros and cons of each please?

(Nikon D90 18 - 105 and 70 - 300 lenses)

You must use a circular polariser - linear ones are for much older cameras, usually pre-AF.

A linear one will play havoc with AF.
