I'm looking at getting a tablet for photo editing, composite work with models.

Has anyone opinion of the Cintiq for such thing? versus use of intuos? thoughts about whether a 13" Cintiq is adequate or 22" necessary?

Windows PC.

That's interesting, so no drawbacks to getting the cheaper Huion tablet?

not that I have found, other than you cant spin the pen round and use it as an eraser, but there is an eraser button.

I actually thought, when going for a larger tablet, its cheap enough to try, give it a whirl and if it doesnt work hey ho. Its been going strong, no issues at all.

Thats the one I went for and amazon are great for returns if you dont like it.

Let me know what you think Dan. I've been needing to upgrade my 5 year old bamboo for some time and was getting frustrated with it last night, it's just lost its sensitivity, ooh er. Was looking at the intuos medium but the cost this month was putting me off.

I pondered over this for ages, I could not justify the Cintiq 24 but was thinking of the 13 inch HD model. In the end I ended up selling my Intuos 4 and buying the Intuos 5 Medium.

I use MAC OSX Yosemite and although I do occasionally have a few issues with it, 9/10 times it works perfect.

happy with this Huion one, I used the keyboard shortcuts instead of the buttons on it - discovered the use or R in photoshop to spin the canvas on the fly so i can draw in the most comfortable direction. Pressure works fine, not got a point for comparison but it does the job/

My bamboo plays up with Yosemite, the touch aspect doesn't work.

Sounds like a no brainer Dan will no doubt buy one.

Hmmmmmmm I'm having problems, looks like it's going back......

I'm using Mac OS and the app that downloads is vastly different than the one that seem to be in the instruction manual and all of the tutorials online. It has very few options compared to the tablet setting.app that is advertised everywhere. I can't get the damn thing to scroll. Have sent an e-mail to support so see if anything happens over the weekend otherwise it will go back. When I have some more time later I might set it up on my windows based laptop and see how it works with that OS.

Just tested in LR and it's doing some very odd things. Seems to have a mind of it's own, literally, with the tone curve. I think there's serious problems with compatibility. Going to try another reinstall as I did uninstall the bamboo after install and have read that there are potential issues there.

Update: well it works absolutely fine on windows and the tablet dialogue box has all of the customisability that it should. There's a serious issue with Mac compatibility and my system. Sooooooo disappointed and still nothing from support. Will have to send back I think and save up for the real deal Intuos.
