Found this on (EDIT) PetaPixel (EDIT, not Ars Technica) this morning; the company apparently already produces some 35mm black and white (US$7.49 a roll) film from cine stock, and has a Kickstarter to make some 120. The spiel included something about adapting for the C41 process. Anyone know any more?

Its becoming a bit of a buzz thing, there are a couple of companies re-spooling cine stock and removing the remjet backing. Both PD Exposure and Film Photography Project have been discussing it lately. I'm sure I'll get around to using some soon.

Sounds interesting, especially in 120! I'm still firing though a few test rolls of Kodak Vision 3 250, seriously looking forward to seeing how it looks!

The 35mm colour stuff is out of stock (it goes on back order pretty soon after they make a batch, apparently). I went through the order process for 5 of the bwXX black and white 35mm rolls, but with shipping it went from $35 to around $90.

The 35mm stuff (800T) is very nice, especially during golden hours and in urban environments with lots of mixed light sources. I'll probably back the kickstarter, I'd love to see what it's like in my MF cameras.

I noticed the packaging is different, and there's no mention of removing any remjet backing.... maybe the b&w cine film doesn't have it?

Double- X doesn't have a remjet layer. From the advert it seems that the seller rolls his own films using bulk film and packages them in reused cartridges.
