If cigars are kept in their original packaging (individual foil tubes), how long would they last?

I just found a (wooden) box of them that I bought in Andorra 15 years ago that I completely forgot about. I gave up smoking 9 years ago so have no intention of trying one myself but just wondered if they'd be ok to give to someone who smokes them.

Cigars are at their best for up to 2yrs but some full bodied ones do improve with age. They are best stored in a humidor- some may be ok for 10yrs although may not be as fresh.

15yrs is pretty long but if they are still wrapped may be ok. Humidity is often the killer as tobacco beetle larvae in the leaf can cause havoc given the right conditions to hatch. Also mould can be an issue but it can be brushed off easily.

I have a few old ones kicking about somewhere- I used to be right into them - even though I don't smoke lol. Nice smell though. Mine are stored in spanish cedarwood box. B past there best now though.

I would give them to someone with a caveat that they wont be as fresh at best and at worst they will be destroyed by tobacco beetle but that would be obvious.
 
No probs- sounds like a plan, one down for investigation wont make any difference- resist resist though:)

Look for holes or disintegration for tobacco beetle and white specs/dust for mould.
