A quick heads up, there is a 1940's themed street party there on Saturday, the whole town will be closed. Fancy dress, fairground rides, Military vehicles, street food etc

Could be a great opportunity for some nostalgia type images around Churchtowns several thatched cottages.

My mum used to be a frequent visitor to Churchtown, she reports that the Botanical Gardens and 12th century Meols Hall are worth a look also.
 
The gardens indeed are very pleasant. I've played with brass bands there a few times. Nice cafe.
 
I need some lessons on a cornet, bought one on a whim last month trying to recapture my school days. :):):)
