Chromakey or grey backdrop?

Quick question, we have a studio shoot to do and need to have the subject separated afterwards, Model will be wearing blue and red. Would it be better to use chroma green or a grey background? TIA

One uses the chroma backs when planning an overlay (clipping mask effect)
in a final rendition. Chromakey are better for the purpose since adequate video
software will recognize, select, and clip the colour and leave the empty area
available for eventual background to the clipped overlay.

In photography, any background having the greatest possible contrast with the
subject without bleeding will do.

I tend to use grey or white when doing cut outs and another factor is the distance from model to background get them too close on a chroma background and you will get colour contamination.

I also use Topaz remask to extract the model and find that works really well on grey.

Automated or manual extraction? What will the final use be?

At an event Green or Blue are generally used as that is what the software recognises to be removed, if you want to use grey then look for a Joel Grimes tutorial

Thanks guys, went with Chroma green in the end, 'studio' space was very tight but initial scans looks good. Had a look at the Topaz remask and it looks good.
