Hi,
If I wanted to shoot the lights switch on (in front of the crowd barrier)
Who would I generally apply too!?
Would I get mauled by the press photographers :bonk:

Contact the organizers and let them know who your shooting for; ie publication or agency. I guess the agency or publication would/should normally arrange this for you.
 
I'm off to see if the mince pies are in Tesco's yet :exit:
 
Im doing it early as there is usually 20 odd photographers shooting it, so Its better sooner than later, especially if its a first come first serve basis! :p

My agency is a sports publication, so I doubt they would - Its just something I would like to do on the side.
 
Fair enough...never hurts to plan ahead, I guess...
