Well thought through and a natural, candid shot.
 
Great portrait and suits the theme. I really like this one

Would qualify for juxtaposition IMO.
 
Playing catch-up on comments:

Transparent - The plastic (?) sheet works well to diffuse the lighting and add to the story telling.

Snappers Choice - You have the knack of spotting interesting compositions, liking both the photos

Knob - Minimalist image with a nice level of lighting

Letters - The "eyes" have it
 
In the kitchen.. nice shot of a very healthy looking selection.
Broken - very effective, nice dof and bokeh.
