So as my collection of equipment grows my bag seems to get smaller and smaller,So I'm on the hunt for a lightweight but stylish camera bag. Just now I carry a D300 and a D50 with the maximum of 4 lens (plus filters, batteries etc)at a time so ideally I'm looking for something that can go up a mountain yet not look out of place in city/urban areas.

Can anyone recommend any bags they own or have owned? I've trawled through tons of websites with tons of bags and just cant choose.

As for budget? I dont want to spend a fortune but I do want something thats sturdy and reliable.

Thanks in advance
Michael

I loved my Domke F833 - it's massive, well-made and stylish. But as I'm selling my DSLR kit, it's waaaaaaaay too big for m4/3 so I'm selling it - on the classified here as it happens... [/shameless plug].

I'd recommend looking at Domke if you don't mind spending a bit of cash. Cheaper, look at Think Tank and Lowepro - they both get a lot of recommendations. I've also got a Lowepro xChange Messenger - I unpicked the logo badge so it looks just like any old shoulder bag. But it would be too small for your kit.

Lowepro Flipside 400 AW. It is just the right size, and as a rucksack it spreads the weight evenly, unlike a shoulder bag, and can be accessed without taking it off or putting it down. It has an integrated all weather cover too, It's easily my favourite bag, and I have a sling bag, two photo rucksacks, and three shoulder bags.

It's the second from the left....

The lowerpro AW looks very similar inside to the Hama bag I have just now albeit it looks marginally bigger and more protective to the weather,my friend also has a similar lowerpro bag that weights quite a bit without any equip in it.

I'm leaning towards the lowerpro guys.......thanks for the input!

I too was going to suggest the Lowepro 400AW as it sounds about perfect for your equipment and of course will look better than Tim's picture as yours will be filled with Nikon goodies! (Sorry, couldn't resist :p)

The only other thing I was going to mention though is that urban scallies/toerags/etc have started to associate Lowepro rucksacks with expensive camera equipment! (I only have lowepro camera bags and use them all the time, but just thought I would mention it)

Not sure it's upto the standards as the above suggestions but I love the Kata bags. I've had 2 and currently own the DR-467i. Generally used for walking and cycling, Fits all my kit in fine and has enough padding and straps to keep it secure/comfy on my back
