I somehow managed to drop one of my Lee 100mm filters this morning. It landed on one corner and took a bit of the corner off.

I have a disk sander and I'd like to smooth the damaged corner off but before I put the filter on the sander's table, I'd like to cover both sides of the filter with some kind of low tac film so I don't add any scratches. Does anyone know what the film is called that comes on screens when you get a new phone or iPad? I'm thinking some of that would do the trick.

Screen protector?

A disk sander sounds a bit aggressive. I'd start with a very fine grit wet and dry taped down to a flat surface, a drop of water and rub the filter over the paper. That way you don't have to slide the filter around on a surface,

You can just put any kind of tape on it I would've thought, masking tape would be good, duct tape may be? Something that don't leave behind residue.

I would do it on a Whetstone, that should be sufficient in remove the sharp edges.

Not duct tape!

Thanks for the reply. The sander I have takes 10" self adhesive disks that go all the way down to 2000 grit so it should be fine on that.

Thanks for the help. I managed to pick up a pack of iPad screen protectors at a local PC shop. I'll give them a try.
