Hello

I picked this up today from a boot sale

It had a roll of film inside so I rewound it a removed

I managed to wind it on but the shutter wont fire

The 3 1.5volt batteries are dead but have not leaked

Was wondering if it will only fire with batteries installed or should still fire without

No point in ordering batts if it faulty

Thanks

Thanks Nick

Will order some batts and see what happens

it only cost £2 with the 50mm lens and leather case so I was not robbed

2 set of batts ordered £2.79 , just doubled the cost of the camera

Batteries arrived today ( must have been on the slow boat from china )

Popped them in and

You know, those CE-4s were very much ahead of their time when they were released.

Chinon brought out many add on accessories, including rare auto-focus lenses, motor drives, data backs etc. So with all that you'll create something that looks like it came out of Blade Runner!

A total bargain you got there, I was gutted when I missed out on a working one from Oxfam for £7.

Just taken a few photos of the Chinon, as you can see it needs a little cleaning ( dusty on the outside ) Will get a dry paint brush out of the shed later and give it a clean

Some light scratches on the base plate , I can live with that :D

I have never seen this camera before but it reminds me a minolta straight away. Is this related to minolta camera in any way?

Not that I am aware of , but It does use Pentax PK mount lenses as well as the Chinon make
