"How Does Your Garden Grow?"

Caitlin checks the Tomato and Chilli plants every day without fail and waters them when necessary. She's really excited by the prospect of home grown veg :)

"I'm forever Blowing Bubbles!"

Tried to get a good shot of a bubble being blown tonight and failed miserably :(

The wind kept catching the bubbles and blowing them faster than i could catch the action - I'll try again when the wind has stopped :)

We have one of those seed houses and it's a nightmare! Our back garden is like a tornado belt and no matter how we tie the darned thing down, it keeps blowing over! :bang:

As for today's, take another shot indoors and photoshop the bubble onto the outdoors one. :D

We have the same problem, but a bag of stone chippings keeps it in place ;)

As for the bubble picture - it gives me ancuse for another day :)

"TAXI !!!"

Another day another Taxi run!

Both Kerie and myself seem to spend all of our time taxi-ing the kids here, there, and everywhere.

Tonight Kerie picked Rebecca up from School at 3:15 and dropped her off at home, then straight back out to pick Caitlin up at 4:15 from after-school club (Cheerleading). We all sat down and had some tea then Kerie was off again to Swimming Club with Caitlin for 7pm.

Meanwhile i went back into work as someone had left the security shutters up! (The M.D!), and then off to Swimming Club with Rebecca for 8pm.

Caitlin comes out at 8pm and home to watch Holby city (She love it along with Casualty!), and i head off home with Rebecca at 9pm.

I NEED A BEER!!

Nice Composition on todays shot ;)

Thanks :)

It was basically my little Oly compact that lives in my pocket, perched on the dash on self timer while whizzing back to work at warp factor 8 (if you look closly you'll see Scotty in the back filling up the dylithium crystal chambers shouting "She cannae take any more captain - she's gonna blow!!")

Love that shpt Chris, the B&W suits it.

BTW, the gravel bag only partially worked. The bottom layer stayed put, but the rest of it ripped off! Back to ye old drawing board! :bonk:

Thanks Marc :)

Pity the gravel didn't work :(

"Wet!"

Tonight Caitlins Brownie Group had a canoeing session with a local instructor (as they do every year) and following the nice weather we've had for the past week we were hoping for a nice warm, sunny, calm day.

NOT A CHANCE!.

It was cold, and very windy. So windy in fact that once everyone was in the water they all blew down the canal to the lock gate and got stuck!

It's been wet here most of the day.
I don't have a photo yet, I really struggle on these grey drizzly days.

We've had a lovely day here, no rain at all!

I like that picture. Looks like fun :)

I can see some stuck already Chris!! we had a lovely day here, no rain until 6ish.

 yup thats them, and within 2 mins Caitlin had joined them.

It wasn't so much the lack of sun that 'spoiled it', but the wind as it made it really difficult for the girls to control the things.

Great shot, Brownies looks good, can I join :)

Thanks Julian :) I think they have age limits (at least that's what they told me when i asked to join :suspect:

"Smarty Pants!"

Tonight was the night that every pupil, and parent, dreads - Parents Evening!.

There was no need to worry though as Rebecca got an excellent report and every single one of her teachers had nothing but praise for her, with her scoring 1's (the highest mark) across the board in all the subjects except Music. In Music she got a 2, due to a slight lack of confidence when performing solo in front of the other pupils.

All in all and very good night and two very proud parents :)

"Daydreamer"

I Caught Caitlin Daydreaming earlier while i was stood in the kitchen with the 100-400 on the 50D catching birds on the feeders.

yeah, thats it, also like the 400mm f5.6 L, for the money (around £1k) it produces some amazing sharp images on par with the even higher priced Canon L glass tele lenses, but as you say the 100-400 is just so versatile.

There's a 100-400mm in the FS forum at the moment (not mine - i withdrew mine from sale and decided to try it out - boy i'm glad i did :D) for around £900 ish

"Supermarket Sweep!"

Saturdy is shopping day, and no matter how hard i try i ALWAYS forget something!

So i took the kids back out and collected the missing items :)

great composition, how long did you make them stand like that? :D

Thanks Julian :)

It was litterally a grab-shot. I just sent them off ahead to retrieve the required items, and i just took advantage of the empty isle as they were collecting :)

"W-A-K (Wide Angle Kids)!"

A portrait with the Tokina 11-16mm Wide Angle Lens (at 11mm) - A fantastic bit of glass and very very sharp :)

A bit funky, perspectrive wise, but i like it !

I'll be doing a full week of W-A-K soon so watch this space :D

2.8 throughout isn't it Chris?? Was going to buy one of them but a sigma came up cheap.

Looking forward to the WAK week!! :)

2.8 throughout indeed and VERY sharp wide open.

The range is quite short, but the 2.8 and sharpness really make up for it :)
