Chillimonster's '365'

More nice shots there Chris liking the Mask one always nice to see the kids having fun, portait looks great to me, the lighter black & white works pretty well, I'm planning on doing some portraits of my niece tomorrow (providing she's at home).

"Caitlins First Gala"

We went to Caitlins first swimming Gala tonight. She's only 8, but was competing with children older than herself, and doing really well. She ended up in 4 races, and their team placed 3rd.

WELL DONE CAITLIN - I'M PROUD OF YOU :)

Thanks Sean.

Enjoy your portrait session tomorrow :)

I like the knock knock one, her forehead looks a little washed out to me but a nice expression.

Thanks Marc - had a real job to get any detail out of the shot at all, and the patterning on the glass does not help matters as the camera would not focus beyond it.

I'll try it again on another day, during the day to give me more light to play with :)

Sorry Chris. The comment about the forehead was supposed to be about the Simple Portrait, not the knock knock. :bonk::bonk:

Love the swimming shot BTW.

Love the control freak shot, I must check out the Tamron 17-35 to go with my D700, although I am very temped with the Nikon version (if I can find a copy)

I still have an old B&W TV in my spare room that has a dial , it's really sad to think that later this year it will no longer actually be useful

Thanks Simon. The remote was literally inches away from the lens on that shot :D

The Tamron Twins (17-35mm & 28-75mm) are a truly awesome pair of lenses for the money, and should not be dismissed.

If you every want to borrow mine for a weekend, let me know, and you can give it a test :)

Have to say I do like the 2nd one better but they're both extremely good.

On reflection, you're right, and i should have used that one as the 365 image, but i never even noticed it on the first round of editing. I took around 400 shots of the swimming club entrants last night so missing it was understandable ;)

Oh I suppose we can forgive ya! :D

"And The Winner Is"

The girls love 'Dancing On Ice', and we always let them vote when it gets to the final few weeks..... but we make them use their own credit on their mobiles :)

6400 ISO, very impressive!!

Use their own credit?? YOU TIGHTWAD!!! :p

The High-ISO capability of the D700 certainly opens up a few possibilities :D

Of course use their own credit - teaches them the value of money. Rebecca was going to vote until she realised she wanted the credit for texting her friends, so decided not to

"Ticket To Ride"

Rebecca is off to Paris with school in May, and we have had to provide all sorts of documentation to school. One of the requests was for a 'Passport Sized Photo' for the group passport for the trip.

I can never understand why passport photos have to look this way. Do people really go through passport control that expressionless? What am I saying!

Yeah, it's kinda unusual for her not to be smiling in a photo :)

Yes never understood this myself I was going to do my own photo for my driving license but decided to play it safe and use a booth in Asda, as I know they can be pretty picky.

We tend to do that with the main pics for passports (had them done in Jessops lat time) as it gives me someone to blame if its wrong

But this one is just for a gropu passport, and they still need their individual passports as well.

"TXT ME"

Rebecca is at that age where everyone is 'txting' everyone, and you can here the 'plink plonk' of keystrokes as she get in touch with her friends.

"We Are The Ovaltinies!"

Caitlin always has a cup of Chocolate Horlics before bed - She just will not settle without it :)

DOH!!! - Left the camera on ISO3200 without realising :bang:

Yadayadayada my D700 :p
I agree with JDHolic

:bat: :bat:

And I like the first Swimming one Chris ;)

Thanks Del :)

Took me two days to go through all of the pictures and process them. I'm going to print out a dozen or so samples for next weeks swimming club meeting and do a bit of a sales pitch with them (offering to give half of any profits to the club to go in the funds ;) )

Like the texting shot nice composition and dof reminds me of being at my parents house between my sister and my niece Im surprised they don't bring down the mobile networks

Want one!! :D

Me too

Oh and stop showing off with your iso3200's  tbh I would never have known if you hadn't mentioned it very impressive
