Chickens!!!!!!

Have done. I used to do a fair bit of work for Country Smallholding magazine. They never brought out an edition that didn't feature chickens strongly.

Umm, why?

Farm chickens or show chickens?

Farm chickens are nervous, skittish and prone to suicidal panic. Less so the more open range they are.

There were some excellent shots of show chickens in BJP last year (I think, could have been 2011).

Something a bout the belly dancers make you think of chickens, then?

Have a look at Tamara Staples, select Personal and the The Fairest Fowl.

Also available as a book for those seriously into their chickens.

It's one of those afternoons.. .. anyway, I found the ones I was thinking of (link above).. ;)

I photograph chickens and have Arabic belly dance music on my iTunes playlist.

Do I get the coconut?

Im an Arabic bellydancing chicken that loves photography.....
I win.

If they are your own chickens (we have 9) and they know you then you can get very close and they don't scarper. Here is my favourite little bantam cockerel.

..............What have I started?

you asked if anyone photographed chickens and then got responses of yes and some sample images of chickens. What did you try and start? :)

I almost became a chicken photographer earlier today (Friday); our neighbour's chickens got into our garden for the first time today - and there's plenty of food on the floor for the wild birds as well as drinking water - which they very much appreciated. If they come in again, I'm going to give it a go ;)

Show chickens?

Chickens have rare and specific breeds just as dogs and there are lots of different breeds, and some people decide to 'compete' with theirs.
Not all chickens are the common or garden ginger ones. We have 9 chickens and every single one is a different breed (bluey grey, partridge, black with white speckles, large, small, fluffy heads etc, etc,.)

Any one photograph Chickens?

I've photographed my own two chicks/chickens MANY times :} They are a Blue Silkie & a Gold Laced Polish, which are pretty hilarious breeds.
