Hi Alex, I also like the processing of #1 but think I prefer #3 with the flowers, I like the curve of the wall and the added interest with the flowers!:)

:agree: although I would crop/ clone out just the top part of the bush on the right hand side.

Liking #1 but go with 3. The horizontal lines are nearly straight but the verticals throw these pictures. Found the same issue when using WA lens.

Hi Alex

like the pp on letter #1...though I can see tinges of pink...but then I ain't got a calibrated monitor so might be that . I also like the wider view , gives more context

Have to agree with vicky a mixture of 1 and 2 would be good

Thank you, will keep it in mind but leaning towards #3 anyway.

Interesting pp in #1, I like it, however, I much prefer #3, the context and the flowers help bring it all together nicely.

Thanks for the comment, #1 is good as an experiment with pp'ing but starting to see the merits of #3.

Hi Alex

Straight - #1 is excellent, although it made me smile as that 'old' feel that yuo have applied brings to mind many of the 30 year old photos in my albums. :D. Imaginative and different take on the theme

Letter - on theme. Like the processing on #1. But #3 has potential I feel for a slightly different angle to include some of the flowers but exclude the sign an double yellow lines.

Hello! Thanks for the comments. It was a bit of a tricky one in terms of angles, its next to a main road! Proved a bit difficult to get all the angles.

I also like the processing of #1. You've given it a nice feel to the wall. I would agree that it just needs some straightening at the bottom to improve.

Thanks for the comments, the straighting was frustrating!

I didnt even notice it  I must process stuff with my eyes shut...

Genuinely the wall is a bit dodgy when it comes to straight lines! Thanks for the comment.

There is a bit of pink, the worn edges of the letter box and just how its come through in the pp'ing. Probably could tweak it but liked the vibrancy of it.

Thanks all for commenting and stopping by!!

I like the idea of the contrasting chocolate but as I'm a bit partial to springers my vote goes for the picture of Molly. Looks like she's already got a new coat or favourite blanket.

The image of Molly gets my vote too Alex, good idea on the chocolate contrast but it looks a little soft to me, not sure if you've missed the focus or its the surface of the darker chocolate

I know what you mean about posting and moving on, sometimes its better cracking on so as one can keep up. Iain

The chocolate one was annoying, thought it would be easy but apparently not. Will go again at some point - any excuse to eat chocolate!

Generally not happy with anything I am taking at the moment, must be setting my ideas too high and then getting disappointed when they do not translate.

Mineral

I used only natural light for this, grabbed a chance whilst the sun was setting and thought the light was nice. Have another idea for composition of this so may try again inside with some more lighting

Dark

Still another idea to come but wanted to post this shot as a starter!

A a bit dark by ChickenDipa, on Flickr

Alex, Another vote for Molly.
Mineral - I think the composition needs to place more emphasis on the gem if that's to be the mineral, and the lighting seems a bit flat as you've pointed out. Good idea with the background though which could pass as the theme.
Dark - Simple shot conveys the message well

Mineral - Yeah as said it feels a bit flat but that has helped not burn out the shiny bits of the necklace. Composition wise I don't have any issues

Dark - I like this one. A really simple approach has made this work very well indeed. Good positioning on the third as well.

Hi Alex,

Contrast, the choccies always win with me ;) I think you've got the colour right, even shows the slight bloom on the dark chocolate.
Gorgeous dog, but the side of the chair bothers me a bit, I would possibly crop it to a portrait shot

Mineral, I think the issue for me is too much detail in the background and the necklace, but as I found with jewellery it's difficult to separate them.

Dark, simple and to the point:thumbs:

mineral I dont think the bg works too well
Dark I like the simplicity it works well

Hi ya

Lovely shot of Molly...beautiful

Mineral....I like this shot ,simple , well lit , not sure why but I like the bg you took it on as well

Dark....simple , fabulous blue color....bit abstract...works for me , only slight niggle is the black shape encroaching on the base of the A...doubt you could so anything about that though....like it

Hi

Why not take part in our annual TP Day coming up soon 9th September,as part of your 52, Where you take a photo on that day and post it on the forum, then all the Photos are made into a slideshow, Click the logo for more details, it's lots of fun to be a part of it:thumbs:

Sorry it's brief - I'm lagging behind again! :(

Contrast - I like it! Looks a little yellow to me but that might be my monitor. Great idea. Adorable puppy, too.
Mineral - Good idea, reminds me of a catalogue shoot, only slight niggle is the lost focus at the top of the necklace.
Dark - Well it certainly is that! I'm not sure what's going on with the shadows at the bottom of the letter though?

Thanks for the comments all.

Wanted to take it on sand as that adds to the mineral theme also could not find another bg that was suitable.

Dark - there was a shadow thing on the bottom, tried to get rid of it but wasnt going anywhere! The only thing going was my sanity. So left it in and the dark is just further encroaching on the the 'A'.

Time - inspired by Delta Skies take on a meal time I decided to do cup of tea time, after a hectic week I felt the need to add the feet up too! I wanted muted colours so messed around with the filters (technical as ever!) and was quite happy with this version of the shot. Next time I open a pack of biscuits I will take another shot as I wanted to get the steam from the tea included.

I like the idea. I can't decide whether the focus should be on the mug and not the slippers. They are integral to the shot though. I like your thoughts about the steam and biscuits.

Like the idea and agree steam and biccies would have been good

As others have said, lovely idea. Very cute mug too, and I quite admire the slippers! Not sure if they match thematically though (which doesn't really matter). I do find the background a little busy though - I think I'd like the background to show what's being looked at during this cuppa break. Shooting it in the garden, or with a Christmas tree and some leftover mess in the background would have taken it to another level.

Hi Alex

cuppa tea, biccies & fluffy slippers...can't think of a better way to spend some un-wind time  Backgrounds been mentioned , only 1 note from me....the slippers , particularly the LH one seem a little soft ? Could be my monitor of course :(

An excellent idea, and it fits the theme nicely... As the title is Tea Time, I feel it would be better with the mug in focus, and would look great with whisps of steam and the choccie biccies to.

Hi Alex

Catching up

contrast - good idea, similar to one i had but did not use. But a bit 'cream' in colour and not sure about focus -not helped by the sugar bloom on the dark chocs.

Mineral - wasn't too sure whether the theme was the stone or the background, but probably works for both. Comp of the chain is a little random. Actually a good idea which maybe you rushed - deserves a 2nd chance.

Dark - like that  Super dark b/g and an incredible blue with the darkness eating into it.

Time - ah the quiet time. Good set up, muted colours, simple. You are right about trying to get steam in - might be hard tho. B/g a bit busy, partic behind the slippers.

Hi, Alex, my feedback overall has been a bit lacking lately...:shake:

OK, Letter #1 for me. Quite like the PP...feel a little lower POV would work better.

Contrast #1 is OK and fits but looks OOF, maybe? #2, nice focus on the eyes, bit closer would work for me.

Mineral, liking the contrast between the jewellery and the BG. A nice leading composition may have worked - the chain leading up to the pendant.

'A a bit dark', nice one. Nice blue colour and well placed. Dark but on the A is a tad distracting, but then again dark is the theme.

Time, feels a bit lacklustre to me. Bit more pop to the colours would improve and focus on the cup.

Good show and don't forget the TP end of project meet...clicky linky

Oh my GOD Alex... how on earth have I got so far behind - sorry, I thought I had finally caught up last week :shake:

Well Bumped Andy

Authority - The first shot for me, I prefer the symetry of that one, straight forward and spot on :)

Short re-shoot - Yum, that looks very nice indeed

Small - Excellent love that, very effective shallow depth of field

Straight - No:1 for me too, like the pp carried out, a very nice aged effect

Letter - Again No:1 for me, I like the angle it is shot from, tiny straighten to align the bottom, but love the bold colour against the stonework

Contrast - Ooo I would like to have them now !!!!! or are they doggy chocs ... there again I wouldn't be fussy at the moment

Mineral - All has been said really, nice thought though

Dark - Very Clever - love it's simplicity, good colour and smart idea

Time - again a good idea, as you said would have been good to see a bit of tea in the mug and some steam to finish it off, oh and of course, Chocolate Hobnobs as Marsha says :)

Thanks for the comments.

Sorry I'venot been around. Not sure where time has gone.

I do intend to catch up. Taking some.time off tomorrow will do it then or I will do it when we.go to Scotland on holiday.

Well done to you all for sticking around. I'll be back in the game soon.

Hi Alex . Good to see some more of your shots..

Friendship - not an obvious connection to the theme but like your explananation. Nevertheless a good shot with good capture of colours and lots of detail in the seaweed, the rippled sand, the stones and the excavations of the worms. Like the squarish crop

Age - both on theme but #2 for me as focus is much better and the 15 years age stands out more. Like the dof and the pov. Again good treatment of colours. Also on#1 the bar code is distracting.

Pack - not sure about this as i don't see the jam pack so much as a lot of cars. Maybe closer with a more compressed view

Thanks Alan, the barcode bugged me too and thats why a few of the other edits didnt make it in the age theme. Was leaving towards the 15 years one too.

Pack admittedly is poor. Want to get something as I am not sure if I will be able to do anything else this week as I am sunny Ryton for a few days with work.

Thanks for stopping by! Just looking at what I have for the other themes :)
