Hi there,

got loads of photo's from MotoGP at donington park this weekend, but most are ruined due to the inclusion of "fencing shadows" (yes i've just made up that phrase), well see below:

is this p&p-able, or have my good photo's all gone the way of the pear? :bang:

:help:

It's only really noticeable in the gravel traps and, even then, it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. An evening with the clone tool should resolve the issue though.

All other areas look ok to me.

I'm not sure that I would worry about it myself.

It would be very easy to remove in PP but, I dont think I would have noticed it if you hadn't brought it to my attention.

I'm not a big fan of this type of photography as it just doesn't interest me and I am definately no expert (in any type of photography) but, I really like this one.;)

I take it there was some panning involved  The bike and rider look well placed in the shot (maybe you cropped it ?) plus, I find it more interesting than usual because of the finger in the air.

Nice one:thumbs:

I don't think you need to clone them out, just roughly select the darker areas feather a bit and lighten slightly.
Done very roughly in about 20 seconds.

Don't use the clone tool. It kills pixels...

curves.jpg

Curves layer over the top
Pull the curve to lighten the image
Mask to hide the curves layer (fill with black)
Soft brush around 50px, Opacity 100% / Flow 10% and gently brush away the darker areas, most areas only need one light pass.

This gives you much more control, and is completely reversible ;)

Thank you for that :D no cropping, it's as it came out the camera, and yes panning used, (still practicing though)

......OMG! what language are you talking in?

I have only got the pp program i got with my camera plus i downloaded picasa3 from the net, so i think i need to investigate what you're telling me to do, but it certainly has sorted out the problem for me.

Thanks, (you don't fancy doing about 50 more do you?):bonk:

Ahh, that be Photoshop :)

You can do all of that in PS Elements as well as the full package. But they cost (you can probably find a free copy of elements 5/6 legitimately though)
You can download a 30 day eval from Adobe too.

Alternatively, the open source Gimp program can be used. Fotografix is another "free" tool which also allows you to do this.
