weekly Chevin's 52 for 2022 .... Week 42 ... Precision

That's a great shot Duncan. Spot on the theme, lovely lighting and tones.
*heads for drinks cupboard....*

That's a good Image, lighting works well and the wooden background works well.

I like that Duncan. The warm feel to the lighting really suits the subject.

Good shot, I do love an old fashioned too!

Thanks for the comment Paul ... so do I;)

Thank you for the comment Simon ... *heads for the drinks cabinet as well* :)

I like the composition and the warmth of the colour - reflects the warmth of the drink I would imagine. Nice set of "olds" for the theme too.

A very good macro shot Duncan, now I have to come up with a new idea...

A nice bit of macro there. It's very interesting how shallow the focus is even at f/10 on a m4/3 sensor.

Thanks for the comment Tim. I only wanted to take 1 hand held shot as I'm not too familiar with focus stacking and the stacking software technique, so I opted for f/10 after taking a few shots at between f5.6 & f/8. Not sure the shallowness of the focus plane but to my eyes and gauging from the seedpod size it appears to be around 2 to 3mm.
Going to have to do some work on focus stacking

Thanks Bill for the comment ... I didn't mean to de-rail your thought train

Ahhh, the dreaded ammunition from curry Russian roulette!

The shallow DOF works well, as do the colours against the greys of the background.

I wondered what it was when I first looked. Some fine detail in there.

Tequila and Limoncello? You deserve the hangover!!!

Was there a dash of flash to get a bit of definition in the labels?

After imbibing ... not a mix I would recommend

No, I used a small panel LED to give me a bit of infill light

Nicely done. Makes me feel like I had drunk some of it!

Well done Duncan, makes me want to take a handful of aspirin and put an icepack on my head (kind of what you were going for I think, the "the Hangover Technique").

Nicely done I can feel the hangover from this picture!

Thanks for the comments guys. :ty:

I haven't seen anything like that since Hogmanay ;) The next time will be next Saturday after another glorious victory when plenty of alchofrolics will be enjoyed

New - Lighting is well handled, if it was possible extra seperation between the rodent parts would have been nice.

Old - Nice composition just needs a bit more space all around

Receptacle - A great macro shot, I always forget about possibilities for close up images.

Bottles - Definitely got the tech ticked off, I'm glad I didn't try looking at this yesterday morning after a friend's birthday party.

That's a nicely executed ICM technique. Exposure time is good – long enough to blur the subjects whilst still retaining enough details.

Nicely composed. You've certainly thought of an apt use of the tech!

As it's bucketing down up here I've had to change my plan for Snappers Choice

This salmon fly is a my interpretation tying of the Aberdeenshire River Dee pattern called a Gordon, named after its inventor a Mr Cosmo Gordon in 1870

Great close-up Duncan, love the story as well.

Lovely details and colours in that one. Works well against the dark background.

That is a lovely image Duncan, nice and bright and just pops against the dark BG.
