Chester Zoo meet - Saturday 30th September

Arse! I can't make the 30th my missus has just pointed out to me that we are away for the BSB at Brands Hatch. I would be tempted to skip it but it's the final and deciding round and besides the missus would kill me if she missed it too.

:o I think I'll be attending, just need to book the day off and we'll be reet :)

If you could please add me to the list that'd be fantastic...i've met quite a few of the people going before even if most of you won't recognise me, rG-tom might be more familiar to a few from another forum? ;)

Tom.

I'll probably be coming along with chenko unless it rains :D So put me down on the list if you could :)

I note on the site that for groups larger than 15 a discounted entry price is possible - maybe if we did that rather than all pay seperately then it would encourage more people to come? Especially those who would be bringing family/partners if they were to come?

It wouldn't count for the people who are getting half price vouchers from me, there would have to be 15 other people in addition to the ones that are getting vouchers for me, also it'd have to be a prebookable thing where you knew pretty much the exact number of people and were able to book in advance - with Twycross we had people cancelling in the week before we went that were definates earlier on - things just crop up in real life.

I've just checked and it looks like its £9.50 per person with a group booking which is almost the same as the half price ticket give or take a couple of quid. Let me get in touch with them and see what they say :)

new bag has arrived, the right one this time, so that is good news.

ordered a slingshot 200 but got a 100 through the post so had to return it, got the proper one through the post today. It means that I have room for my own stuff now so matt doesnt have to carry it around for me and means I wont need a handbag or feel like my pockets are going to burst with my purse phone keys etc.

:D I have just ordered a Computrekker (was going for a minitrekker originally but the price was just too good to pass up) Just need to order my extra batteries & I'm all set. Well, am considering the 100-400 or 70-200 but am not sure which yet, I've been working my ass off recently & have decided to treat myself :D .

I'm getting the 100-400 from kerso mate, £880 + £20 postage.

And if you have the canon cashback book then you can get £105 back on that.

Matt, you're evil buddy, am seriously going to have to consider that now. Any idea where I can get a cashback voucher?

I have a spare one mate, got a booklet with my camera and a booklet with sue's and I can gauruntee you I won't be buying two 100-400L's :p

Well, you say that now, but...
You kick ass buddy  Is there any chance you could bring it to the Zoo when we meet up with the rest of the animals?
Seriously appreciate that mate, half price zoo passes & this, I definately owe you one (or a few  ).

Did you get in touch with Kerso via ebay or here?

Just send him a pm through here, tell him I sent you ;)

And no worries, seems silly keeping them to myself.

Just remember to mention to him that you want a UK invoice so that you can use it for cashback.

Marcel, you couldn't possibly think I would insult someone that has a button moon avatar could you? Amazing - bring back the funky 80s programmes.
That little guy you've got bouncing miserably from side to side is making me really sad though, I don't know, resorting to a "smilie guilt trip" :'( Do you think you & the other members of this forum can ever forgive me (;) ).

He-man and Thundercats too, although I have them on DVD now.

hmmmm there goes my lens then  very much doubt i would ever get one so i will just have to pinch matts :p
honestly i dont mind you having my voucher, so does that mean i get the drinks ;)

Luckily I know where the bar is at Chester :D

Me too & I think I owe you, Sue & Marcel a drink each (for that extra smilie!)
He-man & Thundercats are awesome (I heard that they are starting to remake Thundercats - will have to go knock on their door & give them a good kicking for even suggesting such a travesty :annoyed: ) Have a look here for a genuine Thundercats bloopers outtakes audio - It has me in absolute stitches every time I hear it (PLEASE NOTE this file does contain swearing, so please do not listen if offended by such) (that & the Meowmix song - I like chicken, I like... ).

Sue & Matt, thanks for the voucher & Marcel cheers for the extra smilie (I did know you were only kidding by the way  )

I love those bloopers, going to listen to them again now.

It was bad enough that they remade he-man and destroyed my childhood, luckily I can get them on DVD and that preserves the memories somewhat.

I had a thundercats sword of omens - three different swords of different sizes and a dog ate my big one, gutted.

You going to be joining me in using a 100-400L at chester then? ;)

God, I hope so!! I am going on a mad, sell stuff funding spree to try to get the money together (for anyone reading this, I shall be putting a set of Cokin filters in the Classifieds tomorrow (well, today :) ) In case anyone wants to jump in & take a look - going on ebay if theres no takers here - they are the normal sized ones btw & also some old, film stuff if I can dig it out).

Any idea what time we're meeting up yet?

Edit: Thundercats kicks ass & I had that sword too. :D

I (or my kids) have a complete set of Thundercats figures plus one of the Thundercats 'crafts' ( a wingy thing that flies)...Thundercats are Go!!!!
I love it, I absolutely love it!!

(ps just back from my lunchtime drink to celebrate being 50 tomorrow - could explain the retro joy!)

Awesome Darkstar, hope you have a great one (just in case I can't make it to my comp tomorrow to say happy birthday) Haven't even seen one of those wingy things for years so may have to agree with Matt on the "may be worth something" front.
Anyway, many happy returns mate.

aye happy birthday for tomorrow

In regards to the Chester meet, I'll be sending out pms to everyone who said they were coming this weekend for definates and things so I can allocate spare half price vouchery things out to people who drop out (if there are any)

It's a shame I didnt sign up here a few weeks ago or else I would have gone to the Twycross one, but the Chester one is a bit far for me.. Have fun anyway :)
