Can the various Developers be used with any stop, fixer etc, or is brand compatibility a requirement?

I have Bellini HC developer but want to try Rodinal.

For black and white, any developer can be used with any stop bath and any fixer.

At least, I've never come across any incompatibilies in sixty years!
