Chelsea...

Great when that happens :D

FANTASTIC

(I'm a VILLA fan by the way... so you can imagine how happy I am)

Since when has being beaten 2-0 been classed as being stuffed?

I bet you must have been dying to say that since the last time we lost .... 18 games ago!!!!

From what I heard of the match, the score could easily have been the other way round.

Make the most of it now while you can ..... It won't happen very often.

Signed
A Chelsea fan

Like it matters anyway, Chelsea will be top 4, and Villa will probably be bottom 4.

Only like 5 games in or something, why the fuss? :/

And here we go...

No sane Villa fan will claim we are a better team and that we will finish above Chelski. However, Mourinho (who I have a lot of time for generally) has never won at VP and I think we are the only team/ground with that small honour.

I doubt we will be bottom 4. That's just sour grapes I'm afraid mate.

I only said bottom 4 becuase it rhymed ;(

But yeah, I see what your saying, big teams often have a boogie team, you must be theirs!

Unfortunately the media will have you believe we are a nobody team. Granted the last 20 years hasn't been up to standard at all. But we have a great history and are building for the future, and hopefully it will work out well. Of course the big name, big money teams have spent hard and done well. Teams like Chelsea's are really only making a name now compared to over time and apart from the diving and cheating I have time for them. Manure on the other hand... ;)

Hypnotic behave :) chelsea have not won at Villa park since 1999.

:D:lol::naughty::woot:

db247 I used to follow Villa in person in the 70's :) chico, brian, graydon etc etc :)

Good on ya Shorn, I've only been going down for the last 20 years, since I was, gulp, around 10. Bet it was great seeing those guys!

Derby got the official stuffing of the week 6-0. I wonder if Chewy was watching the match whilst on his stag do ????

Torres was utter class

This was Chelsea's charity match. We like to give encouragement to the small people.

Why is it always AV?

Haha, nice reply :)
I always remember Southampton and Mathew latissiere as being our bogy :) I wanted to throttle him on many occasions. I am looking forward to seeing the Villa new boys bond in the very near future, and am looking forward to the next meeting.

Adamski..... I had my eye on Torres ever since the world cup, ( so has me missus :) ) yep he was outstanding.

Ha. I encourage you to look at our history sometime and see we aren't quite as small as the media would have you believe. It may be in the past, as everything is ;) , but taking it right back.. the league was invented by... William Mcgregor, who was with AV at the time. That's going way back but remember... small is relative.

(and you'll note I respect Chelsea's current ability and Mourinho's managerial and media skill, no doubt about that, only an idiot would doubt your potency in football now)

I did watch (have vague recollections) but I'm not going to publicise what I had to wear whilst watching (It was one of my 35 ridiculous tasks for the last 4 days !) Suffice to say as a Liverpool fanatic it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do !!

Chelsea fan and newbie here. I watched the AV v Chelsea game. We had by far the lion's share of the possession, but we did nothing with it. 1st half I think we had about 6/7 corners, all putting Villa under pressure but didn't make any of them count. 1st minute of the second half Villa get their first corner of the game and score. After that we wasted several free-kicks in good areas and a few more corners with poor deliveries, pressed harder and harder for an equaliser and got done on the break.

All credit to Villa who took their chances.

The one thing we're still missing after hundreds of millions spent on players is someone with a little bit of magic who can unlock a defence. While 4-3-3 worked well a few seasons ago with Duff and Robben on the flanks, SWP is better in a 4-4-2 and too many times yesterday we were far too narrow.

Fair review Bob, I had wedding clients over for an appt so I had to settle for the radio for the first half.. Did sound like you were a bit narrow as you said, our fast wingers made a difference for us and a very hard working defence is always useful against your boys! I've no doubt you'll turn over the next team you play, and I'm glad it's not us!

I do love it when Chelsea lose, I really do. Football is fast becoming a caricature of itself and this is the seasons highlight, when players paid tens of thousands each week have a single on target shot, and succumb to sucker punches, it is hard to justify why anyone takes the game seriously anymore. Chelsea losing is always my seasons highlight.

Let me guess, you were wearing an Everton or Manyoo top. :bat:

I hope you have had a full scrub since to get rid of the germs.

Are you in a team?

Are you in a team?

I'm guessing football isn't your thing, which is fine. Those who follow a team often refer to it as being "their" team, when in fact they don't physically own it, financially or play in said team. However the fans do play a part, and are entitled to call it their team in that sense of the term.

Ah ok I get it now :)

To "non football people" it might sound strange granted.. it takes a certain breed/breeds :D

It does sound a little strange but then I'm not really a football person! I don't mind a game in the park, though.

Anyway, we at Nikon have work to do :D

Sang in the Holtend about 1974 :)
I used to sit in an old pub under a flyover in Aston and listen to the old boys making up songs and writing the lyrics down on beermats.

I'm a Scot but a big Liverpool fan and was glad when Villa won 2-0 as Liverpool should have beaten Chelsea but were conned by a blatant dive.

And Liverpool haven't won any games through cheating this season have they ;)
