Lady a few doors up the avenue had a skip delivered today ,obviously to get rid of some rubbish ,apparently mid morning a white van pulled up outside her house a couple of lads jumped out and proceeded to empty the contents of there van into her skip filling it up ,then drove off rather sharply . I asked her next door neighbour if he took there number ,nah was the reply .
It’s getting worse

Cheeky gits indeed!
The number probably wouldn't have helped though. It happened to someone I know, their neighbour did get the number,
but apparently "it didn't exist" ;)

A firm I employed to replace my garden fencing hired a skip to remove the old stuff at my expense, which I agreed. I forget the exact details now.

Anyhow, they did the job as expected, and when I came to pay them, I knocked £50 off the bill. The man looked a bit perplexed as to why, I said it was for half the skip hire as he had emptied his flatbed truck into it the day before! He looked rather confused as he drove off.

You did well to get a skip for £100 - over the summer I paid £325 for a mixed skip...

There are two types of neighbourhood: those where an empty skip is filled overnight and those where a full skip is emptied overnight...
Some neighbourhoods are both at the same time.
I knew someone who got a skip that got fly tipped, but every morning something in it had disappeared and been replaced with something else.

we have done some pretty massive clear outs of our celler lately and had a few mini skips and yeah we watch them like a hawk while working and have them liften the minute we are done with them.

polski van would be in them in an instant (other eastern European fly tippers are available)

That used to be called recycling, now `upcycling` in todays parlance.:D

The price would have included a road licence, much cheaper if you can put it on your drive or whatever. Probably accounts for the difference

This.
It does indeed make a huge difference to cost.

Had a load of junk dumped in a skip of a relatives house that was being cleared. Unfortunately they left an addressed letter from a debt collector in a side pocket of the hold-all amongst the Junk. As the address was only 100 yards away I dumped it back on their drive.

I've had many a skip over the years £80 for 8 ton soil/brick £150 for 8 ton mixed. Always start filling when delivered to at least level on first day.
