Check your small change ... It could be worth a fortune

i think that only some of the tail pattern ones were minted without a date, im sure not all of these coins are of the ultra rare henstoothrockinghorses***moneytree variety.

infact ive just found one of that design with a date on it.

I handle cash every day at work. I often have quite a few quid in 20ps, bet I'll never find one now as everyone will be checking them

In the papers today there is a full page ad placed by "The London Mint Office" for you to register your interest in selling such a coin..... should you find one.
You must also register before the 18th July to take advantage of the £50 buy price, and only the first 10,000 registrations will be accepted.

:suspect: Marketing trick methinks.:)

I thought that when I heard someone from the mint state "at least it has people looking at the great new designs on our coins"

they may of course just be putting a brave face on it, either way a lot of people on ebay will be making a lot of money from it..... just not me. or at least not yet ;)

Tee hee £200 seems about the average price for one on ebay!
No bad % interest that!

Btw the "London Mint Office" has zilch to do with the Royal Mint,

I've just had a rummage about in my loose change bottle and haven't come across any of those "rare" 20p coins. The only unusual coinage I have come across was a Barbados dollar coin that looked excatly like our 50p. Wow. :D
