Hi there guys. After lots of reading, for the first time in my photography experience I feel stupid green newbie like never before :dummy:
I'm really not into strobism, but what the duck, I want to know how it works. So after searching and reading forums I can understand that 2x Yongnuo 460 will be better then 100 pound worth bowens continuously light. What else I need? light stands, hotshoe adapter and wired trigger? Anything else I forgot? Oh yeah, batteries :) I'm mainly interested in product photography so definitely - tent. Any offers or suggestions, and sorry if I missed the simillar topic...

There was a thread on here just yesterday about a cheap, old flash head - if you're into any kind of product photography then that would be far better than hotshoe flashguns, even though you'd need to bodge a diffused light source and other modifiers, as there is nothing available that will fit it.

Definitely not. Tents are used by fleabay sellers and people who don't want controlled lighting. I'm not saying that tents have no place in product photography, but please don't look on them as an obvious choice.

I just finished to read that thread and it gives me no answers. Can you explain me why flashguns on hot shoe its not good?

A flashgun on a hotshoe is no good for this type of photography simply because it needs to be in the right place, which is never on the camera.
I didn't say that hotshoe flashguns are no good, and if you read this thread you will see detailed info on their advantages and disadvantages.

It's just much easier, with product photography and any other kind of photography where controlled lighting is key, to have a modelling lamp that shows you exactly where shadows will fall, allowing you to create the shadows you need, and the precise effect of any reflectors that you use to create additional light and/or to mitigate those shadows.

With hotshoe flashguns, there are no modelling lamps which means that it's all trial and error. Also, hotshoe flashguns will limit you to much smaller softboxes, and sometimes you need really big ones.

Oh i think you didnt get my point, hotshoe adapter is that small thingiw which connects light stand and flashlight and then you can place it anywhere, some of those hotshoe adapters have a holes to place umbrellas ;)

OK, I didn't get your point, I just answered the question that you asked, I didn't realise that you meant something entirely different and expected me to know that you were talking about hotshoe adapters without saying so.
Can you explain me why flashguns on hot shoe its not good?
I think we'll leave it there
