Evening all,

Looking at buying a second hand tent, but due to weight and size can't seem to find a cheap courier. Package tent is 23kg, 3ft long by 15 inches from the sellers measurements.
Cheapest i have found is parcelforce - £32.45 for drop off and pick up from a depot.

PS - have tried shiply and the cheapest quote was £53!

Sent an Epson 3880 from Dorset to Nottingham for about £9 last year, that was quite lumpy. away at the moment will find out who with when I get back next week.

£12 by Parcelforce 48 going via Parcel Monkey

thanks all. the quote via monkey direct is size dependent as well as weight. i haven't yet got the dimensions of the parcel but guessing the dimensions at 120x40x40cm is £11.94, but increase dimensions to 130x40x40cm the price shoots up to £35.99.

Parcelforce state
For our standard parcel delivery services, the size of each parcel must not exceed 3 metres in length and girth combined and must not exceed 1.5 metres in length. Larger parcels (up to a maximum of 5 metres in length and girth combined and 2.5 metres in length) can be sent via express48large, our large parcel delivery service.
I calculate length and girth combined of above larger parcel is 130cm + (40cm*4) = 290cm. But parcel monkey seem to class this as a large parcel hence the jump in cost.

Hi Keith, we have crossed posts, the dimensions also come into play and may increase the price considerably. Waiting for the seller of the item to confirm the exact dimensions.

Hi,

I put the following measurements in based on your first post and the price never changed: 92cm length x 39cm x39cm with a weight of 23kg

This also includes pick up and drop off from a designated address

Yeah, I've since got tha feeling that those measurements are guesswork so have upped the dimensions on parcelmonkey and then noticed the increase in price. Waiting for the seller to get his tape measure out!

I've had HUGE items and very heavy items sent to me with free or cheap postage option from ebay and various companies. I'm still not sure what the options are or whether they are available only to corporate subscribers?
