Cheaper speedlight/flash options

I'm after some speedlight/flashes that I can simple adjust the power what options are their? It's for a strobist of camera setup currently using a canon 580ex2 but their around £400 each now eeeek!!

Nissin do some good mid price options if you want to keep some auto functions, If you just want some really cheap high power manual speedlights have a look at the Yongnuo range.

I have 2 sb900 s and a yn460 11 triggering with rf602s in hindsight I would have been off getting more yn 460s instead of the second sb900 (I could have had six + complete with triggers for the price of one sb900).
For strobist work on location the yns are great and if you break one it don’t hurt as much

From everything iv read/ seen the YN ??? Flashes seem to be good for manual use seen some things saying they can fire late some times , something to do with optical triggering, but for their price I recon I could deal with it

The alternative to some new YongNuos is a brace of old Nikon SB24/25 or 26, older but better build quality.
