Cheap Tripod

Sounds like a bargain, right up until the point a light breeze sends it and your camera onto the ground. Spend a wee bit more and buy something more substantial -Redsnapper get good reviews on here and their stuff isn't that much more expensive.

I used to have that Hama Star 63, let's just say I now have the RS-284 and RSH-24 combo after not long with the Hama lol. Trust people when they say spend that little extra on a good RedSnapper one, the difference in quality, and most of all the usability, is worth every penny. You get a very comfortable carrying case too!

Thanks for that.

I think I'll stretch that little bit further and pick this one up instead. :)

Another who made the mistake of buying cheap and nasty which was a waste of time. Now have the 283 Alloy 3-Section Tripod with RSH-12 Ball Head and very happy (bar delivery issues). Feels much more expensive than it was and comes with a very usable carry bag.

I'd recommend.

What size are you looking for?

will it be a mini? small? normal? or large/heavy duty tripod?

In easier terms, what will you be using it for?

Not thought about the size.. maybe extend to 6ft in height? never used a tripod before so haven't a clue what I'm looking out for, thought they were all the same.

I'd want to use one for low light close ups and landscape stuff, just need something to keep the camera still tbh..

I bought a cheap tripod off eBay (about 15 quid), boy did I regret it. Unstable, crap head and a b****r to alter the height etc.

Saved up a few quid and bought a Redsnapper with the RSH-61 ball-head.... worth every penny. (don't scrimp on the cheaper head imho).

Check out all the good remarks about Redsnapper here:

The RS-283 or 284 (depending on which you want) along with the RSH-61 ball-head will set you back about £80....... but I doubt you''l have to buy another one anytime soon. (the tripod comes with a nice carry bag too)

I bought as well a ship one on e-bay. "just to try". And yes it is good just to try but I'll loved to have the money to buy a better one. The little plate which is a supposed quick release is a pain. It is actually quiet hard to remove from the tripod and when finally it get off the tripod it is loose from the camera side....
What a crap bought 20 pound on ebay!

Next time i'll by a 2nd hand branded!
