I'm thinking of buying a tablet but I'm on a serious budget. Can anyone recommend a good one that's pretty cheap, say around the £50 mark?

Thanks

I use a Wacom Intuos 4, which I find to be very precise and the pressure sensitivity actually works. That one's not within your budget, but I think they do a smaller version that's about £60.

One word "Wacom" they do many different sizes and prices in tablets, if you have a look around their site you will see that more money buys more functions, I have the intuos 3 and would not be without it!!

If you look here:

http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/differences.php

you can select the different types of tablets and compare them.

Bamboo seems to fit with your price point. :)

Buy cheap, buy twice ;)

If you can stretch to it (Beans on Toast is great...) get the Intuos4 over the Bamboo, and look at secondhand Intuos3's as an option too.

I agree with this sentiment, I would love to have the new "4", but the price hike is a huge one if you are on a budget from that of the bamboo, if your pockets go deep enough then get the Intuos 3 / 4 you will not be disappointed :)

well for a cheap tablet you want to get serif tablet ive got £ 19.99 2 weeks ago its plug and use i am just getting used to it now

I too have been after a tablet after seeing them being demonstrated at a convention some months ago, so thanks for the link :)

I have a Trust 4200 tablet and it was brilliant using Windows Vista. The sensitivity of the pen was supurb. Cost me around £45-£50 from Amazon when I bought 18months ago.

The problem I have now, is I have upgraded to Windows 7 Beta (which I love BTW) and the pen works fine in all applications EXCEPT PS CS3.... Lots of cursor movement/shake.
I have been told I could re-install PS CS3 and this may cure it but havent tried yet.

If it is a Windows/PS compatibility issue then I'm sure it will get resolved before the official release of Windows 7 in October

Thanks all, will get a Wacom I think, just need to check out 2nd hand prices.

It probably just needs a driver update, which should come once Windows 7 is released.
