Hey there,

I recently found a nice little ebay shop called hkdirect that seals mega cheap B&W filters. I got a couple of (boring) UV filters for £10 each.

They also had remote releases for both Nikon and Canon for £2 each!

I sent for a couple for my 40D and a friend's 350D, they look exactly like the cheapest Canon remote release but for a tenth of the price. They are about£4.50 including p and p, check it out.

I got a pattern remote release, from HK, last autumn and tbh the quality is rubbish, it only works about 60% of the time, which can be really annoying!

I got a cheap release from wbesseda. Worked well but I think there is a loose wire inside as it now only works on a part time basis. I've given it a verbal warning and I think a written warning is next. Maybe I'll take it to bits and see if I can fix it. This is not a complaint against wbesseda, but one of the perils of buying cheap stuff.

Got one from HK for my D200 and it works fine. Okay, it's not anything special but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not coming out of a factory not too far from Nikon's!

Think I paid £4.50 including P & P.

:agree:

I have one from HK and use it loads with my 350D.
No problems so far

Got my remote release yesterday and it works just fine. Bit flimsy but hey, for this price you can't complain. I would certainly recommend it for other stingy buggers like myself who resent forking out buckets of cash for insanely marked up Canon accessories.

I bought a Phottix wireless remote from them a while ago for my D200. Works great and looks well made too. A real bargain at about £16 delivered. They do one for the Canon 350 and 400D for about the same price.

Is this a shop on Ebay? Thinking about getting a wireless release for my 400D.

So it can be used as a wireless trigger release or a wired one. Seems pretty good. Whats yours ike Ian_H quality wise?

How would it be used if i had a 430EX mounted on it?

For the money it is of adequate quality, the main thing is it works as advertised. Mounting it on the hot shoe is just a handy option if you have a flash fitted you can just let the receiver hang down.

Cheers

Superb thank you very much i think i may have to order one of these later tonight.

Just placed an order on one now. Just noticed it will take approx 3weeks as its from hong kong.
How long did yours take Ian? Did you have to pay any import duty tax?

Yeah, they always quote 10-15 working days when you buy stuff from Hong Kong but I got mine in about a week and I'm up in Shetland.

I've just ordered an FM wireless flash triggering device for 15 quid including delivery. Doesn't look too pretty but if it works I'll be a happy boy.

Filters are also mega cheap from HK. I got 77mm B and W pro UV filters for 20 quid each including postge. Not bad at all.
