Cheap manual lens - quality

Bought a lens on Fleabay and it arrived today. It's a Ringfoto Auto N 35mm f2.8. Not had much time to try it out, nipped into the garden to snap a few flowers. Cost me the princely sum of £12.40
It looks as though it's been out of its original box no more than a couple of times or someone looked after their equipment really well. Hoping to test it more tomorrow.

Older lenses are more likely to be softer around the edges, particularly these 3rd party lenses.
What aperture was it at?

Think Tank mirror less mover and retrospective ranges are worth a look.
I use the MM mover 10 for the Z50 and 16-50. Might need to go up to the 20 for 2 lenses.
As Ted says, best to handle them if you can.

What aperture was it at?

Think it was f8, unfortunately it doesn't record the aperture info on the camera.
Tried it out in the garden today and it does have it's uses with close-up shots. The closer you are, the less blur there is.
