Spotted this on Amazon - full copy of Lightroom 3 for £110, which is about half some sellers http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-li...e&ie=UTF8&qid=1301661641&sr=1-1&condition=new

I emailed the seller Linelis (who has 100% feedback, if only from a handful of buyers) to ask if it was a full and warrantied version, and got this prompt but brief reply "Hello, here is full Lightroom 3.0 version, from USA. Thank you." It is supplied from the UK though.

What's the catch? If I get this US copy, is it exactly the same as a UK version, warranty, upgrades etc?

Thanks guys :)

Richard.

Why not take the one above that at £109.99 and save yourself 1p (and have a bit more confidence that you might get it).

Funny you should say that ;) but I've just emailed that seller, Jale1938, and have had two helpful replies in as many minutes.

He says the only difference between US and UK editions is that you don't get UK support. He also confirmed specifically that upgrades work fine and that he was using v3.3 himself.

I'm thinking this is a handy saving and worth a punt  Just need a flippin new PC to run it now LOL

I'm pretty sure that software license is only valid in the country it's sold in. So in fact, while it looks like you have a legit copy, it isn't so long as you are in UK, and have a copy of USA license. But then again, that was for Windows OS disc, as I discovered. Maybe Adobe has a different view on licensing, but I very much doubt that.
