i was looking at some cheap flashguns on the bay , one guy had a kit for about £40 with wireless triggers

i have herd people on here saying about some of these cheap flashguns have been known to fry cameras. is this the same for off camera use , as that all i will be using it for

if it's only going to be plugged into a radio trigger, it doesn't matter what the voltage is.
 
I would want to know about the flash is it:

Make model
Full manual
Power adjustement range
Guide Number

IMO you are better of buying a known flash Nikon SB-28, etc and then buying the bits.
