Cheap flash for background?

I have a one flash which I can trigger off camera and a silver/white reflector.

I'm on the lookout for a cheap second flash for lighting a background if anyone has any recommendations please?

When I started I used my on camera flash to fire my OCF, so had the OCF lighting the background and the camera flash lighting the subject, though the results were not brill.

If you can get a second gun it will really help, a used one like a Yongnuo would be £20-£30 ish, and will be good enough to light the background.

Although, in case you hadn't heard, White backgrounds are dead and grey is the future, so you may not need any more light.

Can anyone recommend a cheap flash that can either be used as a slave or with pc cord?

You already have off camera flash by the sounds of it. The YongNuo YN-460 is manual only and has the slave built in so no need for pc cord. This will fire and light the background.

Actually just looked and dont think it takes a pc cord....maybe someone can confirm this?

Neither the YN-460 or your D90 have a port to use a pc cord, the YN-460-II has a built-in optical slave, but the range is very limited -you'd be cheaper/better in the long run to invest in a set of triggers
