Yes
My car-booting auntie has picked me up, amongst many other things, a Canon EOS 50e - the one with the eye-controlled autofocus. Unfortunately, I have no Canon lenses and know nothing about them. Is there such a thing as a cheap Canon AF lens, or are they all compatible with digickal and therefore not-cheap? The 50mm seem to be £50 on eBay, which is a bit much to spend to play with the eye-control thing given all the other gear I have.

(She also picked me up a couple of Helios 44-2m, which I have no body for. I see a Spotmatic in my future.)

The old 'kit lens' 35-70mm zoom crop up on the bay of fleas at a pretty low price...

They're a pretty Meh kind of lens tbh, but better than nothing.

AF lens? That's cheating. ;)

I entirely agree, but not much point even trying a plastic EOS if it's not for that nifty eye-focus thing :D

Thanks all, I'll keep an eye out for the kit zoom. I dare say I could sell them both again as a kit once I'm bored of them.

Yeah, that eye-controlled autofocus sounds pretty handy. If I ever own an autofocus camera again, I would strongly consider going for a Canon simply because of that feature.
