Yes
I have been eyeing up a tablet for a couple of years now. Mainly for use as a portfolio to show clients, but I know once I have one it will be used for all sorts.

Not too keen on an ipad, but the Asus infinity transformer looks spot on. Unfortunately neither are too cheap and I can see a point on the horizon when I am really going to be able to justify it.

But today I saw this in a news letter from OVI, and it looks like the perfect interim solution, or for someone that purely wants a digital portfolio.

LINKY

Has anyone seen one of these, or anything similar. Any thoughts or experiences?

Quite possibly. I have not looked at digital photo frames for a few years. The ones I remember were pretty dumb, put in an sd card loaded with imaged and off it went.

This one seems so have some sort of basic software which looks like it may allow various albums to be used. The 2gb memory might be a bit limiting, but it does take an SD card.

What's your budget? The Nexus10 just came out today and that is an awesoem bit of kit. About £320

If you were going to spend that, wouldnt you buy a refurbed ipad 2 from ebay at around £299?

Err, no because then you'd be in the unfortunate situation of owning an iPad ;)

Id love to own an ipad - i just cant warrant spending that amount of money on one at the moment.

However i like the idea of having one to show images etc and also for browsing the internet etc at home and out as sometimes the screen on my phone can really annoy me being so small especially when viewing peoples shots on TP!

Only problem being nobody makes a 10" tablet for the money i want to pay so il buy camera gear instead!

I'll try again, what is your budget?

Kindle fire HD might be another option if it can show photos.

That's a ruddy good price for what you get in (might I say) quite a stylish package.

carphone warehouse are selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" for £149 at the mo, although stock is rapidly running out. Only 8gb Wifi, but the best thing is it has expandable media, and even better is that Samsung are giving a free 8gb memory card PLUS £30 cash back on it.

Just picked mine up today and for £119 it's an absolute steal.

If its for showing your images make sure you get a decent screen. Most of these cheap tablets will have such a crap viewing angle that no more than one person could possibly see the correct colours at one time.

I'd check out prices of version 1 iPads.
