Cheap 480gb SSD anyone?

thanks for the heads up, I was just in the market for a new ssd:)

Wow great price, thanks!

Best upgrade you can do by far if anyone is considering it :)

I have cloned HDD to HDD before but are there any specifc methods or precautions when doing an HDD to an SSD? Ideally I want to create two partitions, will that be a problem?

TIA for any insight :)

same for HDD to SSD as HDD to HDD. the only issue is that in the old days, the disks are MBR. nowadays with the new UEFI bios, the disks/SSDs can be GPT which is a royal pain in terms of swapping one disk out and put another in. with UEFI there will be boot issues as the BIOS seems to remember the drive it booted from last and you need to rebuild the boot records etc.

depend on your system, if you don't have the newer UEFI bois then it should be a doddle.

But if you do have the UEFI bios then prepare a bootable windows installation disk and you need to do some clever tricks using diskpart commands depending on the boot issues you have. I spend half a day on this when i swapped out my raid to a single SSD recently. very frustrating.
