Hello all,

I have been asked to be the photographer for a charity football match at a professional football stadium, (not a down the park jobby)

i have a 70-200 will this be enough?

and do you have any tips for positions and types of photos that are best to go for?

any help would be appreciated,

Andy.

You may want to think about hiring a 200 - 400 zoom? The pro sports photographers always seem to be using very long lenses I'd guess 300mm up to 600mm. There are a couple of pro sports photographers on here I'm sure they will be along soon.
Good luck.

It all depends upon what you're expected to produce. If its just a few action shots, then go and sit somewhere hear the point where the 18 yard box meets the goal-line, and shoot some goalmouth action. You're pretty much guaranteed a fair few opportunities there, and your lens will be right for the job.

However, if you're expected to produce individual shots of all the players then you'll need extra kit. I assume that you'll have good access to the pitchside as its a charity match
