Changing the sky with layers

Hi,
I have taken a shot that Im happy with but has a bland sky.
I also have a dramatic sky shot that I want to change for the original sky.

I am using Elements 6 and trying to blend the two shots together with layers, but just cant get it right :bang:

Anyone know of a tutorial or can explain step by step please?

Were both shots taken at the same focal length because otherwise the clouds will look out of place even if you get it spot on ...

Mmmm...... One taken at 12mm other taken at 18mm

I have looked at these shots for ages, and think they will look good together (just like me and the wife ) hence why Im trying this.

Upload them both and then it can be a little comp who can do the best job. Plus you then get the image you want

yeah good idea, plus if you get the two shots and we have go and u like one we can say how we did it for future reference !

Agreed, I followed that when producing the image in this thread
