Hi! I realise that this is a non-photography specific question, but I don't belong to any computer forums and couldn't Google an answer that made enough sense to me, so I thought that I would throw myself on the mercy of the computer genii gathered here
...
Here's the thing. I want to buy a new laptop (running Windows 7) here in Germany, but would like to have the operating system and all software running in English. I know that with Windows Vista it is possible to change this setting via the Control Panel and afterwards the computer displays all menus in English, but I was never sure if that is really the same as having a computer which has been set up at the factory to run English language commands and software. I imagine that Windows 7 has this too!?
So, my question, vague and lame though it may be
is; can a PC bought in one European country be set up to be identical to an English PC (apart from the power plug and possibly the keyboard, of course)?
Any input on this one is welcome, as I would like to buy something ASAP (to replace my broken home computer). Thanks
!
