I’m not saying adapted is crap, I’m saying native offers better performance and you need to look at the whole package on offer and why it costs more in some cases. The 85 EF is definitely not as good optically, build, af etc etc as the Fuji 90. It costs more because it’s more expensive to produce and is a better lens.
The 85 is not perfect that's for sure, I have since sold it. It's sharp and has nice rendering and bokeh, but the purple fringing wide open turned me off. It needs stopping down a bit more than I'd like - so i will agree there, but it was £200 vs £600+ for the Fuji. If I stick with Fuji I will have that 90mm some day, that's an ongoing decision ... but I am enjoying the experimentation and I feel I can make just about any lens work. But budget is a factor for many, I feel it is for the OP so adapting to start is not a terrible idea
