Changing from Canon 5DIV to Fuji XT-3 or Sony A7III

I’m not saying adapted is crap, I’m saying native offers better performance and you need to look at the whole package on offer and why it costs more in some cases. The 85 EF is definitely not as good optically, build, af etc etc as the Fuji 90. It costs more because it’s more expensive to produce and is a better lens.

The 85 is not perfect that's for sure, I have since sold it. It's sharp and has nice rendering and bokeh, but the purple fringing wide open turned me off. It needs stopping down a bit more than I'd like - so i will agree there, but it was £200 vs £600+ for the Fuji. If I stick with Fuji I will have that 90mm some day, that's an ongoing decision ... but I am enjoying the experimentation and I feel I can make just about any lens work. But budget is a factor for many, I feel it is for the OP so adapting to start is not a terrible idea

That's pretty much why you need as many super-sharp MP as you can get. In real life you get away with 240dpi and even 200 could be OK particularly if you take an extra step back, and going for canvas requires even less. A7RIII gets you pretty close to perfection.

Looks like your prayers have been answered. Now you can get the A7RIV with 61mp. With pixel shift you can have 260mp. You can print whatever size with 300dpi and look at it with a magnifying glass :D

Seriously that sounds too good to be true. I'll have to have a look into (and my finances).
