In Lightroom, changing the exposure say minus 1 stop is a sinch,
But doing the same thing in photoshop makes the image really grey?

Can anyone explain why or explain the best way to do it in photoshop?

Open you image as a raw.

Open CS2, select open as, select your raw format from the drop down menu, then find your image, click open and this will open up the image in raw format Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) which has the same raw engine as Lightroom.

You should now be able to adjust evethything, like you can in lightroom.

This works with CS3 and CS4 so hopefully it should in CS2.
