Change date format in LR 2.5

I've always used Canon Zoombrowser to import images to my HD then Import the images into LR leaving them where they are on the HD.

I would like to start importing them from the card via LR, onto the HD and into the catalog. However....

All my prior stuff has directory dates in the form YYYY_MM_DD but LR the closest I can find is YYYY-MM-DD which obviously causes chaos with the order the new directories get displayed in.

I've rooted about for a preference setting but to no avail.

Can anyone suggest a solution or if necessary an alternative please?
 
Well I guess it can't be done. Or is this conclusion too premature?

Sound of one hand clapping.....:shrug:

I guess I should conclude that LR doesn't offer such directory naming capability....
and lock this thread for posterity ??? :bang:
 
I can't see anyway of doing it even with custom file name.

Go to the Adobe Lightroom user to user web site and see if anyone there can help
 
Its not that hard, just use the file name template editor and put under scores between the appropriate settings..see example.:)

Before seeing Olypaul's answer I manually edited 2 years worth of directories :cuckoo:

But now I know and maybe others needed to know
