I have just found out that i am to be a marshall at a local rally event on the 23rd march :woot: :D

Should be a chance to get some cracking pics and should be a great day out too :D

As and when i get more info on the rally stages i will post them up so that if anyone fancies coming down to Cornwall for it they will have upto date info ;)

As for the pics .................. i think it's time i knuckled down and started to learn more on the motorsport style of photography ....... panning, settings etc etc :thinking: :lol:

i dont want to be a damp squid, but when i marshalled bike racing events, we were not allowed to take cameras with us to the posts, dont know about rally events mind, but be prepared..

I've marshalled a few events in my time and been stage commander for local rallies and it's DEFINITELY NO CAMERAS. Marshalling is an important job and you need to concentrate on why you are there. If you want to take pics just join the spectators. I think you'll find the spectators will take a very dim view if they see a marshall with a camera too.

DOH!!!!

Oh well ........ either Pepsi will have to take the pics or i will have to stand down as a marshall then :(
