Chance of Aurora in Scotland Tonight.

As the tittle says it's a heads up for those north of the border that there is a chance of an aurora display tonight IF the weather permits.

I live in the north east of England so I'll miss out.

Whenever anything like this comes up, aurora, shower of shooting stars etc... I go out at the appointed time and can never even see the sky

Hope it all comes together for those lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.

I think the X flare predicted by the nasa arrived last night. So little chance for tonight. Although there's a very bright moon rising at 7.30pm which is always bad for northern light. So I wouldn't bet too much on tonight.

This is a M class flare forecast to be about KP5 around the middle of the night, although there is a bigger one due (KP6) around midday today but not much use to us in good old blighty.

I should have gone out. It turn out to be good on the early hours from what i've seen on facebook!
