Can anybody recommend a good CF card reader, I think I'm stuck with a USB reader as my laptop only has the 4 pin firewire port (But if anybody knows different I'd love to know).

Thanks for any help

Pete

Have you no USB ports? If you have and they are USB 2 then the Sandisk and Lexar readers are very good. :)

Just buy the cheapest, They all work. I have had two; the first cost about £25.00 and the second is a £7 PC Line brand from PC World. It has lasted longer that the more expensive one and appears to work exactly the same and just as fast.

Save your money and get the cheap one whatever it is. Tesco's sell one for about a tenner I think.

Yes, it does read slightly misleading, I have USB 2 ports, but I meant I only have the 4 pin firewire port as opposed to the 6 pin variety, which I think firewire CF card readers need.

essentially they all work the same but build quality is different, either the tescos one or the jessops one gives the cf card a snug fit so you won't end up bending pins and last time i checked the tescos one was about £5 so that'd be my weapon of choice

Thanks for the replies folks, sounds like it's cheap and cheerful then.
