does anyone know what the max size of cf card that a d300 and a d700 will accept ??
 
That was true back in the day !
When the D700 was released, I think the biggest cards were probably 8Gb (I might be wrong though)
You can use 64Gb cards if you want to.
I have Sandisk 32 Gb in my D700 without any problems.
Providing the firmware is up to date of course.

I'm like you, I tend to be a bit on the cautious side when it comes to using big cards, even though the D700 is my back up now.
I use a mix of 16 and 32 Gb.

(Still my favourite camera though !!)
 
I think these mega cards will be good for video, and for very brave people !
 
might have a chance of a 128gb card at good price but dont want to buy if it
is no use if camera can't read it
