CEX - Complete Entertainment Exchange

picked up many bargain lenses and flashes from there, always bargains and many have been boxed complete as new with hoods.. i did have one flash that was a bit beat up but it worked fine and was only a tenner..

you get 12 months warranty and a no quibble return should the quality be less than expected.

My advice would be to check the lens in person before purchase - i.e. collect in store only. I've heard numerous horror stories of people trying to get refunds for items which came in poor condition.

I recently tried to purchase a Sigma 70-200 2.8 only to be given a 70-300 and was told that it was a better lens! On top of that, they didn't want me to try out the lens on my camera before purchase,

On the other hand, they sometimes have lenses at a good price but nothing spectacular that I've seen.

Totally agree with picking it up. I once ordered a lens and the one that arrived in the post was a completely different model! It took me more than a month to get a refund ...

I've also managed to get some bargains from CEX, but as Kevin mentions, make sure you see the item first, remember it is second, third, possibly fourth hand.

Never had anything go wrong from there and not sure how they'd go about arranging a replacement on their 12 month guarantee!

I have been into my local CEX store in Preston and I think the stuff is overpriced.

I purchased a nikon sb-800 speedlight from CEX online, had no description but took a chance on it and was very happy with the condition of the item, although it had no case or stand with it, which I would have received had I bought new. I Would however use them again but will ensure I email next time to find out which accessaries are included in the sale :)

I've bought and sold a few minor bits with them, but haven't made any expensive purchases...

I think I'd give them a go if they had something I wanted, but my local branch only ever seems to have Canon in store
