Cellulitis

OK Guys this has gone waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off topic,
Loads of irrelevant threads deleted and Viva is on a short ( 2 day ) break from this thread.
Hopefully we can get back on track and he would have cooled off on his return.

actually, after his little "disruptive post editing session" - some of you may have noticed a few "snipped" posts that have now been reinstated ;) - his break may be a little longer.

Anyway - How are the Legs Keith... any improvement yet ?

No, he still just has two :exit:

Seriously - good on the improvement, Rudolph (y)

Hi Mark,

Yes, big improvement thanks to the antibiotics

Glad to hear it...

Just to explain why I was rather emphatic and forceful in my initial post, here's a story....

I remember first thing the quack did was to get one of those purple "skin marker" pens out and draw an outline around the affected bit and say "Right, now we can see if it's spreading or getting better..." Had a week of IV antibiotics (worryingly, 40 years of no-penecillin or related drugs has kind of left me relying on antibiotics to the extent that i've a bit of a resistance to most of 'em now) and daily he drew another line showing it was receding. Leg looked like a contour map by the end of the week, but you could at least see where it had receded, and where the main sites still were... Took another 2 weeks of antibiotic tablets to completely clear the effects, and even now, 4 years on, the skin in the effected areas isn't back to normal (and needs to be slathered in sun-block when I'm out on the bike to prevent painful sunburns) but I did have a pretty nasty case of it... Hopefully your recovery will be more speedy and less troublesome.

Me & hospitals don't get on and if I can avoid them I will

I guess when I started the thread I knew I would have to go, I just needed a bit of prodding I guess

I know what you mean - after the time I spent in my local one recovering from a smash on the bike (best part of 4 months and another 6 months of almost daily out-patient treatment and physio) I've got a pretty strong aversion to the places myself....

Of course, but that's to be expected.
You're a bloke!! :-) ;)

Actually, it's all the prodding that they do when you get there that's the main problem...

Are you confusing it with your prostate check? :sneaky::sneaky:

no, last time I was in there it was more in the form of a cardiac catheter... and the time before it was 6 months of having my leg surgically broken/stretched/knit together and repeat, neither of which i'd recommend as exactly a fun recreational way of passing the time ;)

Yeah that'll sting! :(
