Can you name anyone famous who comes from your town?
First one who comes to mind for my town is Neville from Harry Potter (Matthew Lewis)

Harold Shipman, Ian Brady, Myra Hindley... ah, good old Hyde :) (just to clarify, I have since left but it sadly remains my 'home town'). Now in Hawkshead in the Lake District which I think is well known for Beatrix Potter!

Not necessarily born but lived at some point.
Katy Hill - Blue Peter presenter
Jimmy Greaves - footballer
Danny Greaves - footballer, son of Jimmy and I was in same class school with Danny
Clive Allen - footballer, went to same secondary school and his younger brother was in my year.

Same here, Hyde, or the town of the dead as the press called it during the shipman revelations.

Rosie Hungting-Whiteley ( from the terrible Transormers 3) Seth Lakeman ( musician ) and although not born around here, I do believe David Bailey now lives around here.

Can't forget Sir Frances Drake ;)

Danny Macaskill. He lived here for a for a few years before he moved to Edinbourgh and became famous for his biking. I used to go out riding with him all the time and still speak to him now and again.

Alan Baxter. He's best known for failing the drugs test of the 2002 slalom in the winter olympics...even though it was only one of those Vicks sinex sprays lol

Not sure if there's any more actually from this area, it's so small.

How could I forget. Ian Dury lived here as a child.

And a long list of celeb B listers.

June Brown, of Dot Cotton fame, apparently has a flat here at Folkestone. Also, John Logie Baird, inventor of the television set, had a holiday home here.

I also take pride in the fact that Samuel Plimsoll, inventor of the plimsoll line and William Harvey, who discovered the blood circulatory system, both passed away here at Folkestone. For years I've been trying to impress the ladies with that one, but for some reason it doesn't seem to have worked.

I live in a small Scottish village so I'll go with my home town of Warrington.

George Formby
Pete Postlethwaite
Ian Brown (Stone Roses)
