CD drive tray sticking (intermittently)

Roksan Kandy 111 CD player - CD drive tray occasionally doesn't open, sort of whirling sound, usually on first use, then when button is pressed few times it opens.

I'm assuming drive tray is the same as desktop/laptop?? - hence question here.

Any advice please eg clean/lubricate - if so with what?

I would be very tempted to look into a replacement before it sticks shut on a more permanent basis. If I did go down the clean/lubricate route, I would try a cotton bud in ant channels and a very light application of a very light grease (if there are any traces of grease there already - some parts may be deemed self lubricating and not require anything else and some greases might cause damage to the parts...)
