Not sure they are good for close up work either, they are cheap and the small register means they can be easily fitted with the appropriate adapter to any dslr or csc. I wouldn't bother though unless you are after a toy camera look as they're crap.
I wasn't going to bother, i thought that might be the case. Ive actually seen one advertised as a 'Toy camera' lens. Why would anybody want to do that? :shrug:

When people talk about toy cameras they usually mean cheap mass produced family cameras, Holga's and Diana's for example. The cheap lenses, rough and ready manufacturing and less than light tight cases give them a certain random charm.
people use CCTV lenses as they are a cheap way to get a fast lens on a mirrorless design. generally they lack resolution compared to a dedicatedly designed lens for a stills camera
